Ken Macaire, the president and founder of Environmental Aesthetics, traces his interest in nature back to when he first saw the Sequoia National Forest as a child, saying he has been drawn to nature ever since. Later, when I was an art major in college, nature was a continuing theme in my paintings and sculptures."
Ken was first introduced to the concept of creating rock formations and water sculptures during the 1970s while he was the owner of the Macaire Gardens nursery in West Los Angeles. During that time, the man who originated the concept of commercial faux rock and water features (with the building of the first water park in Busch Gardens) wandered into Ken's nursery. Ken asked the man to show him pictures of his work and as he looked at them, he recalls, Instantly, I knew that my life was about to take a complete change of direction. My lifelong love of nature and art had, in that moment, found the perfect vehicle for expression: rock formations and water-related creations."
